Tanzanian police are still investigating the partner of Ashly Robinson, 31, known online as Ashlee Jenae over her mysterious death while on vacation.
Her partner, Joe McCann, 45 whom she also got engaged to while on vacation had his passport seized and remains in Tanzania pending the results of an autopsy and ongoing investigation.
Mysterious death
Jenae was found unresponsive in her closet at her hotel in Zanzibar with a belt around her neck in what appeared to be a suicide.
She was rushed to hospital by hotel staff but died the following day.
Hotel staff and eye witnesses say that Jenae and her Fiancé frequently arguedfrom the day they arrived on April 4 to April 8 when they were separated.
The hotel also said it separated the couple to different rooms as a result of the arguments when the incident occurred.
Jenae’s family seeks the truth
Jenae’s loved ones say the claim of suicide makes no sense and urge authorities to investigate the case properly.
Jenae’s mother, Yolanda Endres in an interview with CBS said;
They were in a gorgeous place in Africa and happy. Everything that we knew was that she was supposed to be happy. She was engaged, she celebrated her birthday thereafter, and then she’s just gone.
The father Harry Robinson also questioned Jenae’s partner’s inconsistent behavior and poor communication after the incident.
The fiancé did not reach out to us at all. That’s devastating when your daughter’s halfway around the world. We just wanted to know where she was at, who she was with, and that she was OK. Just give us something.
The family insists on proper investigations in Zanzibar even as the US State department continues to provide them with support
